ISRAEL

APRIL 25 - 30

2022

Dear Family and Friends,

We are delighted to invite you to be our guests April 25th to April 30th, 2022 in Northern Israel where we are celebrating our 60th birthdays with a bit of hiking and biking with family and dear friends.

Israel is a most special place for our whole family — we went on our first trip as a couple during the summer before our wedding in 1994. We toured Israel as a family before Josh’s bar mitzvah in 2008, and Eliana conducted research for her brilliant college honors thesis there in March 2019. We brought Josh and his fiancé, Katherine, for a nearly 3-week graduation trip in May of 2019, and Josh went back in October 2019 to do a 2-month Israel Defense Force Basic Training program. We are involved in many philanthropic endeavors and VC investments in Israel, bringing us there several times a year. Israel is very special in our hearts, and we care deeply for the country and its relationship with the US.

And now, we want to share some of our favorite spots there with you. The magic of Caesarea, with its spectacular beaches, Herodian palace and Roman amphitheater. The spectacular white cliffs of Rosh Hanikra at the Lebanese border, and the mesmerizing tunnels and history of the Crusader city of Akko. The stories of draining the swamps at the founding of the state and building the majestic wineries of Zichron Yaacov by the Rothschilds. The joy and spirituality of Sefat and the majesty of the mountains of the Golan. You will be biking and hiking and dining through them all.

We start our journey in Tel Aviv on the 25th, with an opening dinner party. You’ll stay overnight in Tel Aviv in a hotel of your choosing, then meet us on the morning of the 26th to be shlepped up north in some bad-ass buses. We’ll be staying in the magnificent, brand new spa near Sefat, Mitzpe Hayamim, which reopened in February 2020 after a total renovation. Our treat. Breakfast and lunch will mostly be at the spa, and dinners will be in a few magical spots in our destination towns, described above. No fancy clothes, no high heels, or boots. Just happy, easy, celebratory clothes and vibes.

We hope you will join us on this journey of a lifetime. With this much advance notice, you have plenty of time to prepare, train and even plan an extension of your trip, either before or afterwards, to see more of Israel and the region. We have included contact details on this website for a travel agent who can help with your flights from the US, as well as Israeli travel planners who can help you plan a longer trip. This agent is helping many of you already, in the run-up to this adventure.

We would appreciate your keeping this little trip under your hat, as we have had to keep the guest list tight. Thank you for considering this crazy trip — our life has been so enriched by each of you, and we hope to return the favor by enriching your life with the discovery of the magic of the north of Israel and meeting our other close friends.

OXOX,
